Sneak attack at DelFest
Every once in awhile if you put yourself out there where you are going to be exposed to bands you have never heard of before, you're going to have somebody get all over you like crazy that you never expected. You end up saying, "Wow, I never heard/saw anything like that before!" The Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band is such an experience. I haven't listened to this recording yet, so only going with four stars based on not hearing it, but I'm sure like all else at DelFest it will be great.
Of course this band is not big at all - one guy with what seems to be an electric steel guitar, a drummer with a plastic bucket as a main part of his kit (The band claims they are the only rock band with a bucket endorsement deal), and a wild woman with a washboard. Rev. Payton shows his roots but puts it out there about 111%. When Washboard Breezy tears into her last solo, her washboard was literally on fire. That's when you say, "What am I seeing?" and "Thank you for that music and vision!"
